NATIONAL BOARD The Sigma Phi Omega National Board was founded in May 1998 at the Third Annual Convention in San Diego, California. The National Board was formed to serve as a governing body for all Sigma chapters in order to create a foundation that would further our internal strength, create an environment that would nurture leadership through sisterhood, and to lead the sorority into a bright future. The National Board is made up of both actives and alumni of Sigma Phi Omega. Every active chapter is represented in the National Board by a National Ambassador. The National Ambassador is an active member of the sorority who is chosen to serve as a liaison and representative for her chapter. The Executive Cabinet is made up of alumni that are voted into office by the members of National Board at every other convention. Each executive officer serves a two-year term. Midyear 2004 will be taking place January 8-11 in Seattle, Washington Midyear 2003 - Las Vegas
The Midyear Retreat 2003 took place in Sin City January 9-12, 2003. Approximately thirty Sigmas came to take their chance with Lady Luck. Some stuck with the nickel and quarter slots while other high rollers took up the craps tables. We had a chance to stroll down the strip venturing into the MGM to have a visit with the resident lions and to check out Studio 54, watched Cirque du Soleil's Mystere at Treasure Island and saw gondolas glide by at the Venetian, walked through the streets of New York, New York, saw contestants of Fear Factor slide down the outside the Luxor (we screamed for them as we looked on), prime rib dinner at San Remo, ate an awesome buffet at the Palms, the residence of the Las Vegas Real World cast, which was then followed by clubbing at Rain, had an encounter with the yard-sticks at O'sheas, and watched the water show at the beautiful Bellagio hotel. National Board members stayed at the lovely Tropicana Hotel. 2003-2004 Sigma Phi Omega National Board EXECUTIVE CABINET NATIONAL AMBASSADORS |
